THINGS YOU NEED: Nail Polish Removers We Love!

If there's one thing that's important for your nails - its using a good remover. First, you don't want to over-dry your nails with harsh acetone, and second - nobodies nails look good with leftover polish hanging around! Our two favourite polish removers are the Dior Dissolvant Abricot, and the Ciaté Orange Chocolate (Scented...yum!) Nail Polish remover.

The Dior Dissolvant Abricot is acetone-free, which is a huge plus if you have brittle nails. We love this because you can't tell that there's no acetone in the formula - it works just as well as any regular polish remover. And the bottle is gorgeous - so you can't beat that!

The Ciaté Orange Chocolate Nail Polish remover is amazing because the scent is not overpowering, and the quality is great! We use this frequently, and the vitamin-rich formula does not disappoint!

Both retail for a bit more than your average nail polish remover, but when our nails are in need of some TLC, these are the removers we reach for. If you're in the market, we would definitely recommend picking one of these beauties up!

NOTD: Floral Press using Ciaté Flower Manicure kit in Strike a Posy

Ciaté Pepperminty with Ciaté Pressed Flower on Ring Finger, and Ciaté Locket and Confetti (pictured) on Middle Finger

For today's nails, we've been trying out the Ciaté Flower Manicure kit in Strike a Posy - it comes with a baby pink polish mini, a topcoat (which we love!) and some flowers and tweezers to place them with. More on that kit will be posted soon - but for now we are sharing a look we created using the kit along with some of our other favs from Ciaté! The base colour for this look is Pepperminty, and we used a coat of Locket with two coats of Confetti underneath for a bit of sparkle!

NOTD: Ciaté Heirloom Mani with Microbead Heart Accent

Heirloom, a duochrome purple-green polish from Ciaté, is literally perfection. We paired it with a black accent nail and a micro bead heart using the gold microbeads from the Luxe Metals collection in Lustre (also by Ciaté). We love how this turned out, and this mani looks great in the sun when the duo chrome catches the light!

Ciaté Luxe Metal Caviar Manicure in Lustre

Ciaté Luxe Caviar Manicure set includes pearls in Lustre, and a Ciaté paint pot in Ladylike Luxe.
We were excited to try out the Ciaté Luxe Pearls set after realizing that the microbeads were actually made of metal (they even feel heavier than normal microbeads in the bottle!), since we love the look, but hate when topcoat bleeds the colour. The set includes a polish, pearls and a funnel (to save the extras!) and based on how much we used for one full set of nails, you should have enough beads to do at least 6 or 7 full out nails. If you are using the beads for accents though, you will have more than enough for many manis!

We tried out this look on our full nails, and it wore for three days, although it was just over 48 hours before we had any bead loss. We have read reviews of this leaving a coloured dot on nails where beads were placed, but we used a base coat and had no ill effects! We also used the Ciaté Speed Coat Pro which we are happy to report had amazing dry time, and looked great over the microbeads.

Ciaté Luxe Metals in Lustre

What do you think of this look? The metallic sets are available in Silver, Gold and Rose Gold and are on sale on Sephora now for $23! We're especially lusting after the Gleam set which is a rosy gold metal!

Stay tuned to see the accent nail we did using the microbeads from this kit in the next few days!

Swatched: Ciaté Love Letter - We're in love...

We've been having a bit of a love affair with some Ciaté polishes lately, and our first swatch to share is one of our absolute favourites - Love Letter. This is a pink glitter bomb which leans orange-y in the light. Since one is never enough, we have two swatches to share - a natural light version and an indoor version. This is a shade that looks great from every angle - and these swatches are only two coats!
